THE STORY

Paula Murphy launched HIDESEEKERS in November of 2012. The name Hideseekers, is a playful reference to her constant search for beautiful Leather skins or ‘Hides’; Leather being the hero material in a small and exclusive womenswear collection, comprised solely of luxury basics made in Leather, Cotton, Cashmere and Silk.

Paula’s formative years in the fashion industry were spent both in NZ and Sydney, working predominately with Denim focused brands including Levis, General Pants and Workshop Denim.

For a girl who loved accessorizing almost as much as she loved clothes, Leather was a natural progression, and after a stint honing her leatherworking skills making Leather trousers and vests for a young Ryan Gosling as Hercules, she was itching to get back to womenswear.

Paula launched her first range of Leather accessories, initially handbags, belts and some chunky leather cuffs, under her maiden name ‘SIM’ in early 2001, which she wholesaled throughout NZ and Australia, before extending the range to include clothing also, and opening a flagship store in Nuffield Street, Newmarket.

Towards the end of 2005, deciding to take a break from running her own business, and focus on bringing up her young family, Paula dropped back to part time contracting work, and after constant requests for shopping guidance, moved into personal styling, combining her love of fashion and merchandising, with her technical experience and eye for fit, proportions and fabrics.

Today, the Hideseekers’ brand is a beautiful collision of a lifetime love of fashion. A carefully curated collection of stylish pieces, crafted from timeless fabrics, designed to work seamlessly into your wardrobe and life. Luxury.
